Delete your account

Last updated: May 31, 2026

Account deletion is permanent. Your updates, photos, life context, and circle connections will be removed and cannot be recovered. If you just want to take a break, you can sign out and come back later — your account will be waiting.

Delete from inside the app

The easiest way to delete your account is from the KinLetter app itself:

  1. Open the KinLetter app and sign in.
  2. Tap Profile in the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

The deletion takes effect immediately. You'll be signed out and your account will no longer exist.

Delete by email (if you can't access the app)

If you've lost access to the app — phone reset, app uninstalled, can't sign in — email us from the address on your KinLetter account:

Email: hello@kinletter.com

Subject: Delete my KinLetter account

Include: Your KinLetter username (e.g., @john_doe), and confirm the email matches the one on your account.

We'll verify the request and delete your account within 7 days. We'll send you a confirmation email when it's done.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

What may be retained briefly

For security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, we may retain limited information for a short period after deletion:

None of this retained information is used to contact you or to reconstruct your account.

What happens to your circle

When you delete your account, the people in your inner circle will no longer see your past updates — they're removed entirely. They will also no longer have you in their circle, so future updates they publish won't be sent to you. They are not individually notified of your deletion, but your absence from their circle is visible.

What about my username?

Usernames associated with deleted accounts are retired and may be reserved for a period of time to prevent impersonation. We do not guarantee that a deleted username can be reclaimed by you or anyone else.

Questions?

If you have questions before deleting, or if something didn't work the way it should have, email us at hello@kinletter.com.
